Burkinabe investor Patrick Paré launched the 100% electric vehicle Letsgo ride-hailing service on Thursday, February 27, 2025, to serve the nation’s capital Ouagadougou.
To patronize Letsgo, the customer must download the company’s app available on iOS and Android, which allows them to hail a vehicle and pay for it via mobile money services Moov Money, Orange Money, and Wave, or by bank card.
The app also allows customers to track their journey in real time. Letsgo’s air-conditioned vehicles have Wi-Fi and USB chargers while the company charges its customers only 31 cents per kilometer.
Letsgo rigorously recruits its drivers from the local community.
Additionally, the ride-hailing service offers a playlist of local artists. In keeping with the vision of the leader of the Burkinabe military junta Captain Ibrahim Traoré to promote local industry, Letsgo has purchased a dozen white Itaoua electric vehicles recently manufactured in Burkina Faso to transport its customers.
As mentioned by Business Insider Africa, Itaoua EVs have a range of 330 kilometers on a 30-minute charge.
Itaoua EVs are manufactured at a state-of-the-art factory in the prominent residential district Ouaga 2000.
